At 75, Force was still competing fiercely when disaster struck at Virginia Motorsports Park.
Racing at speeds over 300 mph against Ron Capps, his Funny Car’s engine exploded, sending him crashing into a wall.
Though Force remained alert after the wreck, he was later diagnosed with a traumatic brain injury (TBI), requiring extensive treatment.
His family, including daughters Ashley, Brittany, Courtney, and Adria, stayed by his side throughout his hospitalization in Virginia and at the Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix.
The Road to Recovery at Home
After weeks of hospitalization and specialized care, John Force has returned to his $6.84 million mansion in Yorba Linda, California, to begin the next phase of his recovery.
His home is more than just a residence; it’s a peaceful retreat for the racing legend and his family.
With eight bedrooms, a gym, a library, a sauna, and a formal living room complete with a baby grand piano, the house offers everything Force needs as he navigates outpatient therapy.
A Family Gathering Place
Force’s Yorba Linda mansion has long been a gathering spot for him and his daughters, all of whom have made their mark in racing.
The home, which features several fireplaces, a wine cellar, and an attached apartment for visitors, provides the ideal environment for the close-knit family to support John through his recovery.
His daughter Courtney shared on social media, “It’s been one month since his accident, and he’s officially starting outpatient care back home!”
An Outdoor Oasis for Relaxation
Outside the mansion, Force can relax in his expansive backyard, which boasts a luxurious swimming pool with a hot tub, waterfalls, and a bubbling fountain.
