Ja’Marr Chase Went Door to Door to Live Next to Best Friend Joe Burrow

When it comes to NFL chemistry, few quarterback-wide receiver duos are as inseparable as Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase.

Their bond, forged at LSU and carried into their professional careers with the Cincinnati Bengals, extends beyond the football field.

In fact, Chase took extreme measures to ensure that he and Burrow could continue their friendship off the field—by becoming neighbors in an unconventional way.

College Teammates Turn NFL Stars

Burrow and Chase have been best friends since their days at LSU, where they led the Tigers to a historic national championship in 2019.

Their on-field chemistry was electric, with Chase becoming Burrow’s favorite target and winning the Biletnikoff Award as the nation’s top wide receiver.

Fast forward to the 2021 NFL Draft, their reunion felt inevitable.

The Bengals selected Chase with the fifth overall pick, reuniting him with Burrow, the quarterback with whom he had such a successful college partnership.

Knocking on Doors in Burrow’s Neighborhood

When Ja’Marr Chase arrived in Cincinnati, he wasn’t just looking for a place to stay—he wanted to live next to his best friend.

According to The Athletic’s Paul Dehner Jr., Chase set his sights on Burrow’s street, where the quarterback had already settled into his new home.

In a move that shows just how much Chase values their friendship, he went door to door in Burrow’s neighborhood, offering to buy homes that weren’t even for sale.

“He basically went around and was like, ‘Hi, I’m Ja’Marr Chase. I have lots of money, and I want to buy the house,’” Dehner recounted during an episode of “Hear That Podcast Growlin’.”

Eventually, someone agreed to sell their home, and Chase became Burrow’s next-door neighbor.

The Power of Friendship and Determination

It’s certainly an extravagant approach, but Chase’s determination to live near Burrow reflects the bond they’ve developed over the years.

Chase’s persistence paid off, and the two now live on the same street in a tight-knit community of Bengals stars, including fellow teammate Joe Mixon.

Their living arrangement has turned into a sort of football family on and off the field.

A Partnership That Thrives

Since reuniting in the NFL, the Burrow-Chase connection has been as potent as ever.

Chase set the league on fire in his rookie season, racking up 1,455 receiving yards and earning Offensive Rookie of the Year honors.

Their shared history and chemistry were crucial to the Bengals’ success, even taking them to Super Bowl LVI in 2022.

While it’s hard to quantify how much their living situation contributes to their on-field success, one thing is certain—this friendship runs deep.

Located on three acres on the city’s eastern edge, Burrow’s property offers stunning views of the Ohio River and features a spacious 7,300-square-foot house.

With plans to build a pool house for added privacy, Burrow’s home is a reflection of his success after signing a record-breaking five-year, $275 million contract extension with the Bengals.
