Alec Baldwin has been candid about his current financial difficulties, driven by substantial expenses such as raising seven children with his wife, Hilaria, paying for Spanish-immersion school tuition, and covering two years’ worth of legal bills. To alleviate some of this financial strain, Baldwin is looking to sell his seven-bedroom house in Amagansett, a coveted area in East Hampton. This enclave is famously known for celebrity residents like Gwyneth Paltrow and Bethenny Frankel.
Baldwin initially listed the house in September 2022, shortly after acquiring a 55-acre farm in Vermont. Despite reducing the price multiple times, he eventually pulled the listing in November 2022. Now the property is still available on the market, priced at $18,995,000 – over $10 million less than its original listing price. To further boost the sale, Baldwin filmed a promotional real estate video himself, sharing his personal connection to the property.
In the video, Baldwin reminisces about his history with Amagansett, beginning with his visits in 1982 and culminating in his purchase of the property in 1995, where he subsequently built two additions. He highlights the property’s unique features, including the expansive ten-acre stretch of land. Despite the dead brown grass seen in the video, Baldwin emphasizes the property’s winter beauty and peacefulness.
The backdrop to Baldwin’s financial struggles includes the ongoing fallout from the tragic 2021 prop-gun incident on the set of his movie “Rust,” which resulted in the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and the injury of director Joel Souza. The incident has had a significant impact on Baldwin’s career, with the actor claiming to have lost five jobs in 2022 due to the controversy. He is also currently embroiled in two lawsuits related to the tragedy.
