Sophia Bush, the beloved actress known for her roles in “One Tree Hill” and “Chicago P.D.,” has undertaken a remarkable home renovation project.
Nestled in the Hollywood Hills, her 1950s bungalow has been transformed into a modern, stylish retreat.
With the help of a talented team, Bush has created a home that reflects her unique style and personality.
The Renovation Journey
Bush embarked on the renovation of her 1,600-square-foot bungalow with interior designer Jake Alexander, contractor Orie Prince, and landscaper John Alden Sharp.
The project aimed to restore the home to its midcentury splendor while incorporating modern touches. “Restoring this house and bringing it back to its midcentury splendor has been such a joy,” she shared.
Significant structural work was involved in the process, including foundation repairs and plumbing upgrades.

Post-Renovation
Sophia Bush’s vision for her home included reimagining its layout to create an open, airy space.
The kitchen, originally located at the opposite end of the house, now features a dramatic 13-foot-long island in the color of adobe bricks, topped with Caesarstone.
Custom Ikea cabinets, a matte black Brizo faucet, and terrazzo tiles complete the look.
A new powder room was added, and a master suite was created from a former bedroom and back den.
Living Spaces
The living room showcases a B&B Italia sectional by Mario Bellini, an Eileen Gray side table, and an Arteluce floor lamp.
Vintage pieces, including an Eames screen and Paul Rusconi artwork, add to the room’s charm.
Bush’s design choices create a space that feels both contemporary and inviting, blending comfort with elegance.
Serene Outdoors
Outside, a cacti garden surrounds the home, providing a serene escape.
Bush also envisioned reconnecting the land of her current and neighboring properties to create an urban farm.
This vision has come to life, offering a unique and tranquil outdoor space.
